Jyotish has its roots in India, Hermeticism in Egypt and Greece, Kabbalah in the Hebrew tradition, and alchemy wherever anyone has sought to transform lead—and themselves. Different languages, a kindred grammar.

The Hermetic Principle of Correspondence

As above, so below. The map of the sky at birth is not the cause of your character—it is a corresponding expression of it. This is why the same pattern can be read in the sky, in the body, and in the story of a life. According to this principle, astrology is not causation, but a mirror.

The Kabbalistic Tree and the Grahas

The sefirot and grahas are often read together: Ḥesed as Jupiter's expansiveness, Gevurah as Mars's sharpness, Tiferet as the solar core, and Yesod as the lunar foundation. The value lies not in equating them, but in seeing the same principle in two systems—and thus recognizing it more clearly within yourself.

A symbol is not decoration. It is the shortest path to what words take too long to convey.

Alchemical Stages and Dashas

Alchemy describes stages: nigredo (blackening, dissolution), albedo (whitening, purification), and rubedo (reddening, completion). Anyone who has lived through Sade Sati or a Ketu dasha will recognize nigredo immediately. The dasha timeline tells us when the stage arrived; the language of alchemy tells us what work takes place within it.

Why I Bring These Together

Because tradition alone, without psychological language, often slips into fatalism, while psychology without tradition loses the timeline and the symbol. Together, they offer something rare: a clear picture of a pattern and the freedom to choose within it.
